Take Me Out to the Ballgame (Finally)

We got a ticket to ride.....the F train. It traveled from our hotel to Market Street and from there, we hopped on the T train which then dropped us off right in front of the baseball stadium. Let me tell you, it's a beautiful stadium on the outside and just gets better once inside the park itself. However, going up the long ramps to your seat is nothing to hold a candle to, as it's all just concrete with a few spots where you can catch a glimpse of the Bay.

After we got ourselves situated and seated, we got lunch and a drink and sat in our seats for a few innings. Since this was the Braves and Giants, we didn't really care who won, though, secretly, we were hoping the Braves did (even though the Giants won).



Joanna and I wandered around the stadium, since it was our first time there (and probably would be our last visit for awhile). It is very open and even in the outfield, it seems as if the field is not that far away.

We returned to our seats in time to see on the scoreboard that the Diamondbacks lost to the Pirates (dang them), but were still able to enjoy the game in front of us. Tim Lincecum (SF's only All Star this year and their best player since that Barry guy left) pitched a great game and they definitely deserved the win.



After the game, we noticed that all of the trains were quite full and decided that a brisk walk back toward our hotel would not be a bad idea. The weather was nice at times, though, at others it was quite windy and cold. However, after almost an hour, we finally arrived at our hotel. Some of you may think that this is a long time, but we actually enjoyed the walk and the sights. We rested for a bit and then went back to Pier 39 for some shopping. All in all, a great day at the park and a great walk back. Stay tuned for the next post to see what we did this evening.
